Astrolab rolls whole drum beats from your own samples. Lock what you like, roll the rest, then shape every hit.

Four pages, one instrument.

  1. Deck

    Roll a whole beat.

    Press the dice or R. Each roll is a whole beat, pattern and sounds together. Lock the rhythm, the sounds or one lane and roll the rest; the arrows walk back through earlier rolls. Named effect presets sit on one map, from clean to gritty.

    The effect presets map with named presets such as Warm Tape and Crushed.
  2. Galaxy

    Every star is one of your sounds.

    Your whole library on one map, sorted by how it sounds, not by folder or file name. Pick a star to hear it, see similar sounds beside it, then keep it on a lane. A comet arcs to the sound when it changes.

  3. Lab

    Every hit, on a grid and in a room.

    Draw steps, keep patterns A and B side by side, and place each lane around your head with Headphone 3D. Per lane: volume, pitch, pan, tone, length, nudge.

  4. Mutate

    Grow new sounds from one you have.

    Eight variations circle a sound like moons: darker, brighter, bigger, tighter. Play them from the keys 1 to 8 and keep the one you like.

  5. Loops

    Drop a break; it slices itself.

    Drop a loop in and Astrolab reads its hits: the waveform gets a lane-coloured cut line on every onset, kicks warm and low, hats cool and high. Keep the kit, the groove, or both.
